These was quick to make the night before and then bake in the morning.
1/2 loaf of french bread
2 cups of milk
6 eggs
tablespoon of vanilla
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
Wisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until light and fluffy. The tare or cut the bread into bite size pieces. Pour together. Be sure it is thoroughly mixed. Let rest overnight or no less than two hours.
Now for the topping
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1/3 cup of flour
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 stick of butter
Mix together cinnamon, sugar, and flour. Then cut the butter into mixture until is resembles course crumbs.
Sprinkle onto of the bread and bake at 350 for 20-30 min. It will still have some liquid in it and that's okay. But it should be warm and bubbly. Top with syrup if desired.
